Project #33 – Improvise! (Review)

The past week has been great for my own personal comedy.  After getting a chance to see a taping of The Daily Show on Monday (thanks Matt), I had my last Improv 101 class at Upright Citizens Brigade.  I then left that class an hour early to make it to auditions for ComedySportz New York.

The audition was a lot of fun and went well- I got a call on Wednesday inviting me back to callbacks.  Thursday were the callbacks, which were equally fun, and on Friday I got the wonderful news that I had made the group- I am now a member of ComedySportz New York!

As if that weren’t enough, I also did stand-up on Friday and much to my surprise and happiness, I wasn’t rusty at all (it was my first show in about a month).  Saturday was our graduation show for 101 and I couldn’t have been happier with it.  I have to say that I got incredibly lucky with both the instructor I had, Bobby Moynihan, and all of my classmates.

Between the Del Close Marathon and this great improv week, August is shaping up to be a good month for me.  Is it any surprise that it’s month number 8?
