It was a good week to catch up, and a good thing it wasn’t too strenuous as I’m starting to feel a little under the weather:
Finish my taxes (the big one).
Luckily I got this one done early (I kinda had to). I did a little better with my exemptions this year because I only got $800 back from the government instead of over $1500. I do wonder if living in NYC is going to screw things up for 2008 though.
Transcribe notes for “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.
I read this book awhile ago but never copied my notes from the book onto my computer. I think my biggest “takeaway” from the entire book is:
The deepest urge in human nature is the desire to be important.
If you can find out how to make someone feel important while they do what it is you want them to do, you’ll have no problem convincing them to do it.
Clean out my “My Documents” folder.
There’s some really old stuff in there (back to high school days). Joke #104 was just one of the interesting raps I came across.
Update my “About Me” page on this blog.
It only took 110 days into the challenge to actually update the “About Me” section to include that I’m now living in New York and doing 53 Weeks of Drewy Goodness as opposed to 365 Days of Drewy Goodness.
Install curtains in my bedroom.
The reason why I wanted to install curtains was because my desk was blocking easy access to the pull-down blinds, and thereby making it difficult to put the blinds up and down. Well rather than install curtains, I just decided to rearrange my room so that my desk is no longer blocking the window. It required a little more physical labor, but a lot less physical money.
