Well the first month of 2009 sure went quick–it’s already February already already. Overall it was a good month and was a good start to the here. Here’s a quick check on my goals:
1. Redefine 2009
The focus for January was to redefine the apartment. Here are the results.
2. 53 Weekly Projects Challenge
The projects for January included preparing for 2009, reading the Effective Executive, setting up a media center, reviewing some improv notes, and creating a commercial.
3. Weekly Content Creation Challenge
I wrote four articles and created one video for the weekly challenge. You can find all of them in the Weekly Content Creation Roundup.
4. Establish 4 New Habits
Of course I started off trying to establish what might be the hardest possible habit for me to start–never hitting snooze. I did fairly well in January, only hitting snooze 3 times. February is a short month and I want to make it through the entire month without hitting it once.
5. Improve My Taste
I’ve decided in order to improve my tastes, I’ll create a document that lists all of the Fruits and Vegetables I can think of. I’ll then make it a point to try every single food listed and rank it on a scale of 1 to 5. 1 is that I hate it and never want to eat it again. 5 is that it’s great and is a favorite.
6. Publish a Book
No progress here.
7. Get 100,000 views on YouTube
I posted a video in January, which will technically get me closer. Of course as of right now it only has 1 view.
8. $10,000 in Supplemental Income
All of the supplemental income I received in 2009 actually came from stuff I did in 2008, so the total is currently $0.
9. Get on a Harold Team
I haven’t started my 401 class yet, but I have been trying to think about improv on a daily basis.
10. Get 1-Rated at Work
I talked with my manager and he definitely thinks it’s feasible, I just have to make sure to deliver on my key projects.
Not a bad start to the year, but still plenty of work to do. It is a bit challenging to do a weekly project and a monthly focus. Throw all of the other stuff I want to get done on a daily basis, and it’s looking like every month in 2009 is going to be a busy one–just the way I like it.
