2-thousand-GREAT: May in Review
(post for Saturday, May 31st)
Well another month has passed, and we’re now 25% finished with 200GREAT. Let’s look at my progress towards my goals.
- 53 Weeks of Drewy Goodness. I’ve now successfully completed 22 projects. May started out with the completion of my Headshots, and then was all about the “Play in May Challenge” with Research, an Outline, and the First and Second Draft.
- A Joke a Day. Whew, 152 jokes. Highlights from May: Coma Vacation, Smoke Booty Call, and 11:11.
- Perform Comedy 53 times. I slowed down even more in May, but I did perform stand-up at the Sales Meeting. That puts me at 30 performances this year, surpassing last year’s total.
- Get over 100,000 views on YouTube. Still nothing here. Though Matt moved in, and we start our Sketch Writing class in late June, so hopefully that will get me started on this one.
- Publish an Article. I continue to have ideas of what I want to do here, but I just haven’t focused on anything.
- Break into Top 10 Internal Blogs at P&G. I don’t think I made a single Corporate Humor post during the entire month of May. I really need to figure out how to fix that.
- Start a business. Well I completed the eBook, but I’m not all that happy with it. Though I am still exploring some ideas with a goal of having something up and running by the end of July.
- Have 13.5″ Guns. Travel killed me this month (LA, the cruise, Chicago and Phoenix). Luckily the arms are still at 13″ though.
- Never hit Snooze. Yeah, no go here. I didn’t hit snooze this morning. Of course I didn’t set an alarm, so that’s not really much of a win.
- Help Someone Achieve a Goal. I helped a friend with a resume, and he got a job, so that might count. Still doesn’t seem as big as I wanted it to be though.
May was a good month, though I didn’t really make too much progress on some of the goals. It’s always interesting how priorities start to change after a couple of months, but I’ve made my commitments and I want to keep them. I did like the idea of having a monthly project that is completed in weekly steps, so I’m going to try that again in June.
Here’s to hoping your resolutions are going as well, or hopefully better, than mine.
