2-thousand-GREAT: July in Review

With the end of July, I’m entering month 8 in the big apple- time sure is flying by.  Let’s take a look at my goals.

  1. 53 Weeks of Drewy Goodness. We are now in the middle of Project 31 after 31 weeks of 2008.  Here’s what I accomplished in July: I recorded some Pachelbel, I updated my resumes, I wrote for an hour everyday for a week, and I caught up on some notes.  And now we’re in the middle of the Smarty Pants book.
  2. A Joke a Day. July brought the joke total to 212.  Some gems from the month: my golf game, insulted trees, and cyber-bullying.
  3. Perform Comedy 53 times. Between travel and improv classes, I was only able to perform twice this month, leaving me at 34.  The start of August doesn’t look good either, so I’ll likely have some catching up to do.
  4. Get over 100,000 views on YouTube. The Sketch class has definitely been helpful in forcing me to write.  I need to go back and edit some ideas and then figure out how to shoot them.
  5. Publish an Article. No progress here.
  6. Break into Top 10 Internal Blogs at P&G. The article I wrote a few months ago was posted on one of our internal home pages, so traffic jumped quite a bit.  I started an email listserv also, so hopefully I can drive continual traffic with that.
  7. Start a business. Me and a business partner have made some considerable progress here.  We’ve chosen not to tell people exactly what it is we’re working on until it’s up and running and making money; that way if it fails completely, I can deny the whole thing ever happened.
  8. Have 13.5″ Guns. I felt like I might’ve made some progress here… but still at 13″.  I’ve changed up my workout routine, so if I can stick to it in August, I’m sure I’ll increase over the next month.
  9. Never hit Snooze. I lose.
  10. Help Someone Achieve a Goal. I helped some folks at work, but nothing big.

July was a busy month (lots of work on the new business), but not a whole lot of progress in the other areas.  I really want to focus on improving my workout and at least tape a sketch in August.  We’ll see how that works out in a month.
